The Berlin Porn Film Festival, scheduled for the end of October, aims to attract more attention with a new category this year. This time, amateurs will also be eligible for awards in the newly created category called Sex Tape. You can submit your film until 30 April, looking for fame and a small amount of prize money.
At the end of October, Berlin will perhaps once again be more reminiscent of how the city was before the pandemic: Sparkling eroticism everywhere, a vibrant nightlife, a new edition of the VENUS, and also the Pornfilmfestival Berlin aims to make a splash again.
For years, the festival has sought to pay tribute to the immense artistic achievements and diversity in porn and celebrates productions from all over the world. From 26 to 31 October, numerous films will be screened at the festival.
This year, however, the organizers have thought of something special and are hoping for ample participation by amateurs. With the newly established category »Sex Tape«, not only independent studios and professional producers will have a chance at a screening and an award, but also homemade private porn.
The festival organizers have assembled a jury to review the submissions. Juliana Huxtable and Jordan Firstman are in charge of the pre-selection. Porn stars Sean Ford, Rebecca More, Billy Vega, and the XBIZ Gay Performer of the Year, Max Konnor, will select the best films from the participants and choose the winners.
Matt Lambert is the director and co-founder of the organizing production company, Vitium. He commented: »The evolution of XXX content and what that even means will surely be evolving to a space that’s more and more about entertainment and escapism in addition to getting off. From innovative XXX dance films to greater representation than ever before, the XXX space is rapidly evolving – in large part due to the democratization of the creation and distribution process. We wanted to shine a light on this work and see what the next step of ‘home content’ is.«
Speaking about the new category at the festival, a spokesperson said: »The ‘Sex Tape’ category celebrates first-time filmmakers, self-shot films by pros and people who are generally pushing boundaries in the world of OnlyFans and similar platforms. The winning filmmaker will receive a cash tip of €500 as well as mentorship from the Vitium team on their next XXX film project.«
Films submitted must have been created in 2020 or ’21 and range from 3 to 10 minutes in length. The closing date for entries is 30 April. The rules for participating can be found here.
